The withdrawal of the monsoon continues across various parts of India, leading to diverse weather conditions. While some regions are witnessing a dry spell, others are still receiving monsoon showers. In the national capital, Delhi, no rain has been recorded recently, and the dry weather is expected to persist today. In contrast, the financial hub, Mumbai, is experiencing continuous rainfall.
Maharashtra, particularly in Mumbai, the last 24 hours have seen relentless downpours. On Thursday, heavy rain lashed the city, causing severe waterlogging on several roads, leading to significant disruptions for commuters. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that these rain showers will continue for the next five days, prompting the issuance of a yellow alert.
For Friday, Mumbai is expected to experience heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms. The wind speed is likely to reach up to 40 km/h. The minimum temperature today is forecasted to be around 26°C, while the maximum temperature could reach 32°C. Due to the continuous rain, the night temperatures might drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rain is likely today, October 11, in Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep, with isolated heavy showers in some areas. Similarly, light to moderate rain is expected in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, southern Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
Additionally, light rain is possible in parts of the Western Himalayas, Bihar weather, southern Gujarat, Odisha, Northeast India, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. IMD has also forecasted rain today in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, the Konkan and Goa region, central Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, and Gujarat.
