The meteorological department has issued a severe weather alert for Northern India, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kilometres per hour. This weather pattern is expected to persist from April 14 to April 17 and will affect regions including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Western Uttar Pradesh - Madhya Pradesh.
Light showers were recorded in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Haryana, Chandigarh-Delhi NCR, and Uttar Pradesh yesterday. Today, there is a forecast of rain and thunderstorms in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra. Some areas of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan experienced hailstorms last night, with more expected-on April 15 in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi.
