Niranjan Sarkunde, a farmer living in Jambhala village of Hadgaon taluka, cultivated brinjal in only one and a half bights of land and earned up to Rs 4 lakh including input costs. He grew brinjal for three years.
Niranjan Sarkunde has 5 acres of land, and he was growing traditional crops in his field, but he was not getting desire in income. After this, he cultivated Brinjal in his one-and-a-half bight field. Niranjan started the cultivation of vegetables along with the traditional farming. He planted brinjal in 2 by 2 beds and did proper water planning by using drip to save water due to scarcity of water. After this, brinjal was harvested in 2 months. Niranjan Sarkunde got a net profit of about 3 lakhs from brinjal production in this one and a half bigha land. The special thing is that he only spent 30 thousand.
