The Haryana government is providing special encouragement to farmers adopting crop diversification. According to an official statement, this not only increases their income but also ensures environmental conservation. The future of farmers is focused on crop diversification. In this direction, the state government has initiated its ambitious 'Mera Pani-Meri Virasat' plan, the primary objective of which is to ensure water conservation while promoting crop diversification.

The statement said, "This plan is proving to be quite effective, and with a goal of saving 42,480 crore liters of water for the financial year 2023-24." During Kharif-2020, 41,947 farmers adopted crop diversification in a total area of 63,743 acres, for which 45 crores were approved. This resulted in saving a total of 22,565 crore liters of water. The statement mentioned that the total goal of this plan is to save approximately 42,480 crore liters of water. As of July 31, 2023, a total of 32,150 farmers have registered their 70,170 acres of crops under this plan. Meanwhile, Khattar stated that the state government has also implemented a natural farming plan to protect soil health from degradation and discourage the use of harmful pesticides.
