Agricultural sector development is progressing in India, and there is a record pace of production. While good production estimates are expected for wheat, rice, and coarse grains in comparison to the previous year, horticultural production is also likely to be quite promising this year. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare has indicated a significant increase in the production of fruits, vegetables, flowers, honey, and other related products this year compared to the previous year.
Referring to the horticultural production estimates, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare stated that there is an expectation of year-on-year growth in the production of fruits, vegetables, plantation crops, flowers, and honey. According to them, the production of fruits is estimated to reach 108.34 million tons in the year 2022-23, compared to 107.51 million tons in the year 2021-22. In the year 2022-23, vegetable production is estimated to be 212.91 million tons, as compared to 209.14 million tons in the previous year
