Environmentalists and experts have acknowledged this. According to renowned environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar, the impact of climate change can be easily seen in the Western Ghats, from where the Juari and Mandovi rivers originate. The flow of rivers has reduced, and it is not the same as before. These changes are occurring due to the destruction of forests. In the past two years, large-scale deforestation has taken place, and due to the extreme weather conditions, wildfires frequently occur in the forests. Rajendra Kerkar mentioned that this year there was a water crisis for people living near the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary.

Also known as Strobilanthes callosus, Karvi is a green shrub that blooms once every eight years, and the color of its flowers ranges from purple-blue to pink. Rich in nectar and attracting a diverse range of butterflies, birds, and insects, Karvi flowers create an extensive ecosystem. Expressing regret, he said, "The flowering of Karvi has been affected due to climate change. In the recent days, large-scale Karvi flowers have not bloomed in the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary in the Western Ghats of Sattari.

Renowned environmentalist Abhijit Prabhudesai told ANI that climate change has not only affected the coastlines but has also influenced the patterns of fruit-bearing crops and the flowering season. Prabhudesai said, "Many farmers tell us that climate change has affected cashew production and other activities. Even fishermen say that fish are moving to other places for breeding because the climate here is not suitable." Due to coastal erosion, our coastlines are shrinking. The patterns of fruit-bearing crops and flowering seasons have changed due to climate change. Even the number of migratory birds has decreased. He warned about the environmental degradation and the resulting impacts of climate change, saying that as per the 'Goa State Action Plan on Climate Change,' 15 percent of the land in Goa will be lost due to floods and other reasons.
