Isolated thunderstorms with lightning are expected over parts of South Peninsular India for the next 5 days. A rise in maximum temperatures by about 2°C is likely over most parts of West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Punjab over the next 2 days, with no significant change expected thereafter. Scattered rainfall is likely over Northwest and Central India. Mainly dry weather is expected to prevail over the rest of the country.
The northern limit of the monsoon currently passes through 20.5°N/60°E, 20.5°N/63°E, 20.5°N/70°E, Veraval, Rajpipla, Ujjain, Vidisha, Sidhi, Chaibasa, Haldia, Pakur, Sahibganj, and Raxaul. Conditions are favorable for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat State, Madhya Pradesh weather, and remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar. The monsoon is also expected to advance into parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the next 3-4 days.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat Region, Kerala & Mahe, and Karnataka. Heavy rainfall is also expected at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Saurashtra & Kutch, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Lakshadweep.

Lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Marathwada. Lightning is likely at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, and Gujarat State. Heatwave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Uttar Pradesh.
Advisory for Fishermen: Squally weather with wind speeds of 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is likely to prevail over the Lakshadweep area, adjoining the Maldives area, along and off the coasts of South Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Karnataka, and Kerala, as well as off the coast of Sri Lanka, Gulf of Mannar, and South and Central Bay of Bengal, and the Andaman Sea. Squally weather with wind speeds of 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is expected over the Gulf of Mannar, and southwest, southeast, and west-central Bay of Bengal, along with the coasts of Somalia, South and Central Arabian Sea, Yemen, and Oman. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
