Primarily cultivated in Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir, it matures in about 120 days, yielding approximately 40 to 45 quintals per acre.
- Basmati - 370 Characterized by elongated, shiny grains emitting a distinct fragrance post-cooking, Basmati-370 takes about 150 days to mature and can yield up to 12 quintals per acre.
- DRR 310 - Maturing in 125 days with a notable shine, this variety boasts a protein content of 10.3% and an expected yield of up to 45 quintals per hectare.
- IR-36 - With a maturity period of 120-125 days, IR-36 yields an estimated 45 to 50 quintals per hectare.
- IR-64 DRT - 1 Developed by Birsa Agricultural University (BAU), this variety, requiring minimal water, proves advantageous in drought-prone areas. Maturity occurs 110 days post-planting, yielding up to 16 quintals per acre and 40 quintals per hectare.
- Hybrid - 620 Known for its long, shiny grains, Hybrid-620 matures in approximately 125 to 130 days, boasting yields of up to 62 quintals per hectare. Resistant to rice blast disease, it stands as one of the premier rice varieties.
