Thunderstorms in Some Regions, Rising Temperatures in Central and Western India

March 14, 2024 The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in various parts of the country today. According to the IMD, isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal are likely to experience thunderstorms with gusts reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph. Additionally, lightning is expected at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh weather update, Uttarakhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
Weather Update this week:
- Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra, the weather is expected to be clear today, with a slight increase in temperature. The minimum temperature is likely to hover around 21 degrees Celsius, while the maximum may reach around 31 degrees Celsius.
- Similarly, Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat, is expected to experience dry and sunny weather today, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 22 to a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius.
- In Hyderabad, light clouds may be observed today, with slightly humid weather conditions.
- Over the next five days, hot and humid weather is expected to prevail over Kerala, Mahe, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
- Yesterday, rainfall and snowfall were reported in various regions, including many places over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh. Isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Odisha also experienced precipitation.
