On 14th October 2024, we analyzed the latest market prices in some key mandis (markets) of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. This article will cover the fresh tomato prices in Dhamnod and Jaora (Madhya Pradesh), and Dhamnagar and Gondal (Gujarat).
Tomato price in Dhamnod: Dhamnod Mandi, known for its fruit and vegetable trade, recorded an arrival of 0.6 tons of tomatoes. The minimum price was ₹1,500 per quintal, the maximum price reached ₹2,600 per quintal, and the average price was ₹2,200 per quintal.
Tomato price in Jaora: Jaora (Fruit and Vegetable Mandi), only 0.4 tons of tomatoes arrived, but prices were significantly high. The minimum price was ₹10,000 per quintal, and the maximum price was ₹12,000 per quintal, with an average price of ₹11,000 per quintal.
Tomato rate in Dhamnagar: Dhamnagar Mandi, Gujarat, a mere 0.03 tons of local tomatoes arrived. The minimum price was ₹6,800 per quintal, the maximum price was ₹7,500 per quintal, and the average price stood at ₹7,200 per quintal. This indicates strong demand for tomatoes in Dhamnagar, allowing farmers to fetch higher prices, especially for local varieties.
Tomato mandi bhav in Gondal: Gondal Mandi recorded the largest tomato arrival of 25.62 tons. The minimum price was ₹5,000 per quintal, the maximum price reached ₹8,000 per quintal, and the average price was ₹6,500 per quintal.
Conclusion: On 14th October 2024, there was significant variation in tomato price across the mandis of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Jaora Mandi recorded the highest prices, while Gondal saw the largest arrivals with balanced prices. Both Dhamnod and Dhamnagar Mandis also exhibited price fluctuations depending on the supply and demand for tomatoes.
