The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying will organize an Entrepreneurship Development Conclave on January 13, 2025, in Pune, Maharashtra. The conclave aims to bring together policymakers, associations, cooperatives, industry representatives, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions to explore opportunities in the livestock sector. This platform will enable stakeholders to discuss challenges, share solutions, foster entrepreneurship, promote value addition, and implement sustainable practices to catalyze growth in the sector.
The Government of India is implementing flagship schemes like the National Livestock Mission (NLM) and the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF), with budgets of ₹2,300 crores and ₹29,110.25 crores, respectively. By showcasing opportunities under these programs, the conclave aims to empower rural farmers and small enterprises, fostering inclusive growth and economic resilience.
The event will mark the launch of the National Livestock Mission – Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NLM-EDP) Dashboard, which will provide a comprehensive and organized summary of the project’s key details. Additionally, 40 projects supported under AHIDF and NLM-EDP, worth ₹545.04 crores, will be inaugurated. The updated National Livestock Mission Operational Guidelines 2.0 and success story booklets will also be unveiled.
Driving Growth in the Livestock Sector: Panel discussions on topics like “Catalyzing Growth in the Livestock Sector: Entrepreneurship, Processing, and Opportunities” and “Role of Banks and MSMEs in the Livestock Sector & Credit Facilitation” will feature participation from government representatives, industry leaders, financial institutions, banks, cooperatives, and associations.
