The Central Government has launched the "Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan," aimed at ensuring essential developmental activities in 11,377 identified tribal-dominated villages of Madhya Pradesh. Tribal Affairs Minister Dr. Shah informed that development activities under this initiative have been divided into six distinct sectors.
Establishment of 100 Tribal Rural Markets: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs plans to establish 100 Tribal Multi-Purpose Marketing Centers (TMMCs) or tribal rural markets across the country. Proposals have been sent by the state government to the central ministry for setting up one TMMC in each of the 19 districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The TMMCs are proposed to be set up in Burhanpur, Khandwa, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Khargone, Dhar, Mandla, Seoni, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Dindori, Narmadapuram, Betul, Ratlam, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria, and Sidhi. Each center will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹1 crore, spanning approximately 2,000 square meters, with a built-up area of around 367.80 square meters.
Beneficiaries: Over 9.3 Million Tribal Population: The initiative identifies 11,377 tribal-dominated villages in 267 blocks across Madhya Pradesh. It aims to directly benefit a total tribal population of 9,323,125, belonging to 1,858,795 tribal families. The government’s objective is to connect these families with all aspects of development and improve their living standards.
