Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that the PM Jan-Man Scheme is set to integrate the Baiga, Bharia, Sahariya, and other marginalized tribal communities into mainstream development initiatives. Through this scheme, 5,481 villages with significant Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) populations will receive streamlined services facilitated by nine central and state government ministries and departments, offering eleven essential citizen services to the residents.
Dr. Yadav shared that in the tribal-dominated districts, the state government has earmarked ₹7,300 crore to construct new health centers, roads, bridges, hostels, multi-purpose centers, and residential facilities. These infrastructure projects will directly benefit over 1.1 million residents belonging to Baiga, Bharia, Sahariya, and other PVTG groups across 24 districts. Furthermore, under the Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0 initiative, new Anganwadi centers are being established for comprehensive support. Villages with 100 or more people that currently lack Anganwadi centers will soon have new centers built to meet these needs. The campaign also aims to provide permanent housing and new access roads for all eligible PVTG families, along with Van Dhan Development Centers to boost skill training and economic opportunities within these communities.
Through the Dharati Aba Tribal Gram Utkarsh Campaign, both the central and state governments have crafted a holistic development blueprint for all tribal communities, including PVTGs. Under this campaign, approximately 11,377 tribal-majority villages are slated for extensive developmental work, providing easy access to 25 essential services from 18 central and state ministries and departments. This initiative will ensure that the entire tribal population in the state is covered under these schemes.
The Dharati Aba Campaign incorporates services from a wide array of ministries, including Health and Family Welfare, Rural Development, Jal Shakti, Power, New and Renewable Energy, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Women and Child Development, Education, IT, AYUSH, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Tourism, Tribal Affairs, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development. This integrated approach ensures a seamless delivery of essential services to remote tribal areas, marking a major stride in inclusive development.
