As the Rabi season approaches, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has introduced six advanced varieties of wheat seeds through its PUSA Institute in New Delhi. The sale of these seeds started on October 3 and will continue until October 9. Farmers from all states can avail themselves of these seeds, which are known for maturing in approximately 130 days and yielding up to 76 quintals per hectare.

With the Kharif crop harvest and government procurement well underway, many fields are now vacant, allowing farmers to prepare for Rabi sowing. To aid in this effort, PUSA is offering high-quality wheat seeds, ensuring better productivity for farmers. These seeds are available online, and farmers can order them by registering on the PUSA Seed Portal.

Advanced Wheat Varieties for the Rabi Season:

PUSA has developed six advanced wheat varieties, some of which mature in 130 days, while others take up to 155 days. These varieties have a yield potential ranging from 60 to 76 quintals per hectare, offering a significant boost to farmers' output during the Rabi season.

How to Order Advanced Wheat Seeds:

According to a notification from the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department, farmers can register for these seeds on the PUSA Seed Portal at (https://pusabeej.iari.res.in/register.php) After registration, they can place orders online and have the seeds delivered to their homes. Alternatively, farmers can also visit the PUSA Institute in New Delhi to purchase the seeds. In addition to wheat, seeds for other high-quality crops are also available at the center.

Important Guidelines for Seed Booking:

  1. After booking, farmers must collect their seeds from the PUSA Institute within 10 days.
  2. Make sure to book the correct quantity of seeds, as cancellations are not allowed.
  3. If payment is successful but the receipt is not generated, avoid making a duplicate payment.

By utilizing these advanced wheat varieties, farmers can enhance their productivity and secure better yields for the Rabi season.
