Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh is set to establish a Mango Park in Lucknow. This park will be constructed on approximately 15 acres near Kisan Path on Raebareli Road, with an estimated cost of around 18 crores. The Mango Park will feature about 2068 plants from 108 varieties of mangoes. On the occasion of August 15, 2024, CM Yogi Adityanath will participate in the plantation drive at the park. Under the Amrit 2.0 initiative, the park aims to showcase 108 varieties of mangoes, including Amrapali, Ambika, Dussehri, and Chausa.
In a conversation with the media, it was revealed that a Mango Museum Park will also be established within the park, covering an area of 400 square meters. This museum will provide digital information on 775 varieties of mangoes grown across the country. Additionally, the paths within the park will be named after different mango varieties.
The Mango Museum Park will also feature various types of water lilies and lotus plants, enhancing its beauty. Besides mangoes, 18,828 other plants will be planted in the park. Trees like banyan, amaltas, gulmohar, and peepal will be planted around the park's perimeter. The park will also include 1260 plants from 20 other species, such as guava, gooseberry, jamun, maulshree, sheesham, ashoka, hibiscus, kinnow, peepal, cluster fig, karanj, and terminalia bellirica.
The primary objective of establishing the Mango Park is to provide people with accurate information about various mango varieties and their medicinal value, as well as to promote tree plantation. On August 15, 2024, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the plantation drive in the park.
