Uttar Pradesh Government Will Give Solar Pumps to Farmers on Subsidy

There is very useful news for the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. UP government will now provide solar pumps on subsidy to the farmers of the state. Under the Prime Minister Kisan Urja Suraksha and Utthan Maha Abhiyan i.e. PM Kusum Yojana, subsidies are given to farmers across the country for irrigation. In this context, the UP government has decided to give bumper subsidies to farmers for solar pumps. It is said that the state government will provide solar pumps to farmers at 60 percent subsidy by combining its own and central subsidies. The special thing about this scheme is that farmers will be given the benefit of subsidy on 'first come first serve' basis. Any farmer who wants to avail this subsidy can apply from January 16 to January 20.

Farmers Should Note These Dates:

According to the Agriculture Department, there is an online process to make the system of allocation of subsidy for solar pumps transparent. In this, farmers of different divisions will be able to apply online only on the scheduled date. In this, first the farmers of Chitrakoot Dham, Varanasi and Prayagraj division will be able to apply from 12 noon on 16th January. The application process will continue till the achievement of the target allotted for their district.

After this, on January 17, farmers of Bareilly, Kanpur, Mirzapur and Basti divisions, on January 18, farmers of Meerut, Lucknow, and Ayodhya divisions, on January 19, farmers of Saharanpur, Moradabad, Agra and Aligarh divisions and on January 20, farmers of Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh. And farmers of Devipatan division will be able to apply online from 12 noon.

9 Types of Pumps Will be Available Under the Scheme:

Under this scheme, arrangements have been made to provide 9 types of solar pumps to the farmers. The UP government will provide solar pumps to the farmers at different prices ranging from 2 horsepower capacity to 10 horsepower capacity. Farmers will get 60 percent subsidy on the market price of solar pumps. In this, a 2 HP Surface Pump (a pump that throws water by placing it on the parapet of a pond or well), whose market price is Rs 1,71,716, will be available to the farmers on subsidy for Rs 63,686. Similarly, 2 HP AC and DC submersible pump will be available for Rs 64,816. Its market price is Rs 1,74,073.
