Weather Update Today 09 March 2024, Varied Weather Patterns Across India Due to Western Disturbances, Weather Forecast For Next 5 Days

Two Western Disturbances in quick succession are anticipated to affect northwest India, with the first expected from the night of March 10th and the second from the night of March 12th. These systems are poised to bring significant changes to the region Weather Update.

Weather Forecast for Next 5 Days:

1. On March 9th, strong surface winds ranging from 25 to 35 kmph are predicted to prevail over the plains of Northwest India, except for south Rajasthan.
2. Odisha is expected to experience isolated rainfall from March 9th to 10th, while Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim may encounter similar conditions on March 9th.
3. On March 10th, isolated light to moderate rainfall/snowfall is likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad, along with Himachal Pradesh.
4. Subsequently, from March 11th to 14th, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning are forecasted for the region.
5. Uttarakhand is also expected to experience isolated light to moderate rainfall/snowfall during March 11th to 14th.
6. Punjab is likely to witness isolated to scattered rainfall from March 12th to 14th, while Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh may experience these conditions on March 13th and 14th.

1. A trough in westerlies along Long. 92°E to the north of Lat. 25°N may bring isolated light rainfall/snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh in the next 7 days. Additionally, isolated light rainfall is expected over Assam & Meghalaya, as well as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura from March 13th to 15th.
