Vegetables prices in retail markets increase by 30 percent

The middle-class families are bearing the brunt of the rising prices of tomatoes, and now due to crop damage caused by the rain, they are also facing the impact of increasing prices of other vegetables in the retail markets. According to the Central Consumer Department, from April 28 to July 28, onion prices have risen by 22 percent, tomato prices by 400 percent, and potato prices by 18 percent. This surge in prices is affecting the kitchens of common households. The main vendors in Azadpur market predict that these inflationary trends will persist until September-October.
