Weather patterns are shifting across different regions of the country. Due to bright sunshine, temperatures in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar are rising, reducing the impact of winter. Meanwhile, a new Western Disturbance is set to affect both hilly and plain areas, potentially bringing rainfall to several states. The northeastern states are already experiencing rainfall, which is expected to continue throughout the week. Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh may also witness rain and snowfall.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy rainfall and hailstorms in various parts of the country. Light rain is expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, and Sikkim. Due to the influence of western winds, northeastern India may continue to receive rain, while Arunachal Pradesh could witness light to moderate rain and snowfall until February 20.
Western Rajasthan is expected to experience rainfall between February 17 and 19, while eastern Rajasthan may receive rain on February 18 and 19. Additionally, temperatures in the state are likely to rise by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next 48 hours.
Weather Changes in Northern India: The impact of the Western Disturbance may lead to light rain in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand from February 17. Between February 18 and 20, rainfall is also expected in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh. In Delhi, cloudy skies are forecast for Saturday, with maximum temperatures around 27°C and minimum temperatures around 11°C.
Snowfall Expected in Himalayan Regions: Jammu & Kashmir is likely to receive snowfall today, while higher-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh may witness snowfall on February 18, 21, and 22. Rain is also predicted for the region on February 19 and 20. However, the weather in Himachal is expected to remain dry today.
