A low-pressure area formed over the west-central Bay of Bengal remained active till 05:30 AM today. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels. This system is likely to move north-northeastwards and gradually weaken over the next 24 hours. Under its influence, strong winds with speeds of 35-45 kmph gusting up to 55 kmph are expected over the central and northeastern Bay of Bengal during the next 12 hours.

Temperature Forecast:

  1. Northwest India: Maximum temperatures are likely to fall by 3-5°C over the next three days, followed by a rise of 2-4°C during the subsequent four days.
  2. Central India: A drop of 2-4°C is expected over the next three days, with no significant change thereafter.
  3. Western India: Temperatures are expected to fall for the next three days, followed by a rise of 2-3°C.
  4. Other parts of the country: No major temperature changes expected.

Heatwave Alert: Heatwave conditions are likely over West Rajasthan from April 14 to 16. East Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab may also experience heatwave conditions on April 16.

All-India Weather Forecast (April 11–17, 2025):

  1. April 11: Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, and Kerala & Mahe. Thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds, and hail are expected in parts of Uttarakhand, Punjab, and East Madhya Pradesh. Dust storms may occur in Rajasthan. Thunderstorm activity is also expected over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.
  2. April 12: Heavy rain is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Kerala & Mahe. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds expected over East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Assam & Meghalaya. Dust storms are likely in East Rajasthan.
  3. April 13: Assam & Meghalaya may receive heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds expected in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the northeastern states.
  4. April 14: Heatwave conditions likely in West Rajasthan.Thunderstorm activity expected in Assam & Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and the northeastern states.
  5. April 15: Heatwave conditions will likely persist in West Rajasthan.
  6. April 16: Heatwave conditions are likely to affect Punjab, Haryana, Delhi weather, and West Rajasthan.
  7. April 17: Heatwave conditions are expected to continue over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and West Rajasthan.
