The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted thunderstorms and moderate rain across parts of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh today, June 5. As pre-monsoon activities gain momentum across the country, the full monsoon season is expected to commence soon. However, several regions in North India continue to experience extreme heat.

The IMD reports that heatwave conditions persist in certain areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi Weather, and Madhya Pradesh, although some parts of these states may also see rain.

Delhi Weather Update:

New Delhi, June 5 Delhi has been sweltering under intense heat, though a slight drop of 2 to 4 degrees in temperature has been observed over the past few days. The IMD predicts that from today, June 5, until June 7, Delhi will experience light drizzles accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, providing some relief from the heat. The city is expected to face continuous strong winds today, with maximum temperatures around 43°C and minimum temperatures near 31°C.

Severe Weather Alert Issued for Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh: Yesterday, heavy rains and strong winds, reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h, lashed parts of Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. The IMD also issued lightning alerts for several areas, urging residents to take precautions.

As the country transitions into the monsoon season, citizens are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and be prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions.
