Due to the influence of active western disturbances and cyclonic circulations, significant changes in weather patterns are being observed across various parts of India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hailstorms in the coming days. Additionally, heatwave conditions and high humidity are expected in several regions.
Temperature and Heatwave Forecast: In the next two days, maximum temperatures across northwest and central India may drop by 2–3°C, followed by a rise of 3–5°C afterward. A heatwave is expected in western Rajasthan on April 14–15, with severe heatwave conditions likely on April 16–17. Heatwave alerts have been issued for Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, and eastern Rajasthan between April 15 and 17.
Rainfall Report (Past 24 Hours): Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm activity was recorded in parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh. Hailstorms were reported in Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh Weather, Nagaland, Jharkhand, and other regions.
Maximum and Minimum Temperatures: On April 11, the highest maximum temperature in the country was recorded at 42.8°C in Akola, Vidarbha. Minimum temperatures varied across different locations, with some being above or below normal. The lowest minimum temperature was 15.1°C, recorded in Nahan, Haryana.
