With the beginning of Chaitra Navratri, Madhya Pradesh is expected to see a change in weather. The first week of April may bring rain and hailstorms to many parts of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance and cyclonic circulation are becoming active, which may lead to strong winds, rainfall, and hail in several districts. This weather shift could affect daily life and pose challenges for farmers.
Weather experts predict that on April 1 and 2, districts in Bhopal, Indore weather, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Rewa, and Shahdol divisions may experience light to moderate rainfall. Some areas may also see hailstorms and strong winds with speeds reaching 40 to 50 km per hour. This could cause damage to electric poles, trees, and crops. Additionally, a slight drop in temperature is expected due to the rain and winds.
This change is happening due to the influence of a western disturbance and cyclonic circulation. These weather systems increase moisture in the atmosphere, leading to cloud formation and a higher chance of rain and hail. Similar weather conditions were observed in March, causing losses for many farmers.
The temperature is not expected to rise significantly in the last days of March. However, as rain and strong winds arrive in early April, both daytime and nighttime temperatures may drop. After the rain, the heat may decrease for a few days before gradually rising again.
Precautions for Farmers: The weather change could severely impact farmers, especially those harvesting wheat, chickpeas, mustard, and other Rabi crops. Sudden rainfall and hailstorms may damage standing crops. Farmers are advised to complete harvesting without delay and ensure proper storage of harvested grains. Those who haven't harvested yet should take precautions to protect their crops from excess water accumulation, which could affect quality.
Weather Alert for the Public: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for strong winds and rain. People are advised to stay in safe places during bad weather and avoid open areas. Vehicle owners should also take precautions while traveling to prevent accidents caused by strong winds and wet roads.
This weather change may last for a few days, so both the general public and farmers need to remain cautious.
