The central government, under the PM-Kisan scheme, has allocated INR 6,466.58 crores to West Bengal for income support to farmers over the past five years, benefiting more than 51 lakh farmers. This announcement came a day before the meeting between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
