Wheat Procurement at MSP Continues in Madhya Pradesh: 26.73 Lakh Metric Tonnes Procured, ₹5,027 Crore Disbursed

Under the Rabi Marketing Season 2025, wheat procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP) is underway across Madhya Pradesh. The farmer registration process was conducted from January 20 to April 9, 2025, during which 15.33 lakh farmers registered themselves for selling wheat at MSP.

Wheat Purchase at ₹2,600 per Quintal:

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Mr. Govind Singh Rajput informed that the wheat procurement period has been fixed from March 15 to May 5, 2025. Farmers are being paid a total of ₹2,600 per quintal, which includes the MSP of ₹2,425 and an additional state bonus of ₹175 per quintal.

26.73 Lakh Metric Tonnes Procured So Far:

The Minister stated that 3,528 procurement centers have been set up across the state. So far, 26.73 lakh metric tonnes of wheat have been procured from 3.09 lakh farmers.

₹5,027 Crore Disbursed to Farmers:

Minister Rajput said that a total of ₹5,027 crore has already been paid to farmers for the procured wheat. The remaining payments will be cleared within 3 to 5 working days. He emphasized the state government’s commitment to ensure timely and transparent payments to farmers.

Additionally, 2.47 lakh farmers have contributed to the procurement of 21.36 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, for which around ₹4,000 crore has already been disbursed. The last date for farmer registration was April 9, 2025.
