Women in Madhya Pradesh to Gain Employment and Support through Self-Help Groups

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that self-help groups (SHGs) have become an effective means of empowering women both economically and socially. These groups not only promote women’s empowerment but also help them become self-reliant. Women associated with these groups are playing a leading role in building an Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) Madhya Pradesh.

Continuous Efforts toward Women Empowerment

The MP Government reiterated the state government's commitment to the overall development of women. He highlighted that 50% reservation has been provided for women in local bodies, and efforts are underway to ensure 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assembly by 2029. Women are also receiving a concession in registration fees when property is registered in their name. Through the Ladli Behna Yojana, women have become economically empowered.

SHG Women to be Linked with Gaushalas
The Chief Minister announced that under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Gopalak Yojana, the state government aims to boost dairy production while integrating SHG women with cow shelters (gaushalas). These women will produce dairy-based products such as sweets, rabri, and kalakand, which will help increase their income and make them more self-sufficient.

New Employment Opportunities and Incentives for Women
The government stated that women employed in textile factories will receive ₹5,000 as an incentive, in addition to a monthly salary of ₹8,000 from the company—making their total monthly income ₹14,250. Furthermore, the state has launched a recruitment drive for one lakh government positions and aims to create 2.5 lakh employment opportunities over the next five years.

Major Development and Investment Initiatives in the State
The Chief Minister also shared that Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate a 4-lane road connecting Dhar to Dewas on April 10. Projects worth over ₹5,000 crore will be launched, and the inauguration of national highway projects worth ₹30,000 crore is also planned. Additionally, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Anandpur Dham on April 11, and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah will attend a cooperative conference in Bhopal on April 13.

Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur, stated that providing proper nutrition to malnourished children is essential to shaping a strong future for the country. The ongoing Nutrition Fortnight (April 8–22) focuses on four key themes: the first 1,000 days of life, use of the Nutrition Tracker, management of malnutrition, and prevention of childhood obesity.
