Following the historic success of World Food India 2023, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, has announced the dates for the third edition of the event. World Food India 2024 will be held from September 19-22, 2024, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
World Food India 2023 brought together investors, manufacturers, producers, food processors, buyers, exporters, policymakers, and key stakeholders from the global food ecosystem on one platform. The event provided opportunities to explore investment and trade prospects at every level of the food processing and retail industries in the Indian market, establishing India as a global hub for food processing.
World Food India 2023 was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on November 3, 2023. The event witnessed participation from over 90 countries, with 7 international ministers, 9 ministerial delegations, and 91 global CXOs in attendance. Following the inauguration, a CEO Roundtable Meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal. During the event, MoUs worth ₹33,129 crore were signed, exchanged, or announced. Over the three-day event, 112 B2G meetings and more than 16,000 B2B meetings were held, with participation from over 700 international buyers. On the exhibition front, more than 1,200 exhibitors from over 15 countries and 23 Indian states showcased their offerings across 50,000 square meters of space. The valedictory session was addressed by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, on November 5, 2023.
India food processing sector is valued at over $400 million, with an average annual growth rate of nearly 9% over the past decade. To build on this success, World Food India 2024 is being planned on an even larger scale, with the aim of positioning India as the “Food Basket of the World.” The event will focus on exploring investment and collaboration opportunities for stakeholders in food processing, including food processors, technology and equipment manufacturers and suppliers, logistics players, cold chain operators, and food retailers.
